Viney Hill Country House

Viney Hill Country House is an enchanting period house built in 1741, which has been extended and recently renovated to a very high standard. The house has a beautiful outlook over the Forest of Dean and Gloucestershire countryside. It has off road parking for 4 – 6 cars and a private enclosed swimming pool for year round use (please bring your own pool towels).

Our popular 10m² BBQ Cabin has been installed after the renovation works were completed, BBQ-ing in style.

Ideally situated for the many attractions of the Forest of Dean, it allows easy access to Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol, Newport and Cardiff. The property offers an ideal base for activity holidays such as cycling, walking and something for nature enthusiasts. This is a truly peaceful country location complete with numerous beautiful walks; popular cycle trails; plus many interesting places and attractions located within an easy travelling distance.

The views at Symonds Yat and the River Wye are less than 20 minutes away. The famous Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail is very close by. The surrounding area boats a wide range of attractions.  including the Dean Forest Railway, Go Ape, (High Wire Forest Adventure), Perrygrove Railway, Clearwell Caves, Hopewell Mine, and the Dean Heritage Centre. Other places easily reached include The National Bird of Prey Centre at Newent, Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust, Prinknash Abbey – Bird and Deer Park, and the popular Welsh mine – Big Pit is only an hour’s drive.

There are several high quality local restaurants, such as the Ugly Duckling, The Cock Inn and the La Dolce Vita, for those seeking the take away option the Bengal Balti, Jimmy’s Kitchen and Rominos Pizzas are in the nearby town of Lydney.
